‘Homeward Bound’ is a visual observation of how we are connected to our ancestry through people and landscapes. In 2025, my family moved to Cornwall, thus tracing the paths of our Cornish ancestors who have lived here before us. Most of my mother’s side of the family have remained in Cornwall, where I have been gathering a deeper understanding of my roots through the stories they tell me, as well as the photos they’ve provided for me. This project has become a cultivation of stories, including my own childhood memories. Stories are integral to ‘Homeward Bound’, and have become an asset as I learn more about my own identity.
